It's been a while since I updated so I figured that I'd write a little post in here.

Wedding stuff is going ok...stressful but what wedding isn 't.  We got dad fitted for the tux and got the flower order under way.  We just got home from PA and things down there went...well....pretty shitty.  Both of us were stressed cause Nat's fam is permanently in LOW gear so getting shit done with them was like trying to pull some teeth.  Nat's mom isn't doing too hott.  She's doped up on a shit load of pills and meds...and she can't comprehend anything most of the time.  It doesn't help that she still smokes, drinks coffee.  She's had 4 stints put into her heart and she's had back surgery and also had a morphine pump put in now the docs are thinking of giving her more meds.  The fluid around her heart isn't helping one bit.  I wish there were something I could do to help but her mom is stubborn and the rest of the fam are too lazy and too stupid to figure out that she needs HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok...enough about that.

I LOVE NAT

yep...we just bought a new car too...2004 Pontiac Aztek...it's pretty nice, fully loaded...sunroof...we are already looking for add on items for it...bug guard, tow hitch, I can't wait...payments aren't that bad...we can def afford it but the only thing is that I'm still paying on the Kia...yes...that fucking thing is still running, 120000 miles on it...it's had it's share of beatings...I love that car...it's been through so much.  it's even been inpounded once...not every car gets to go through that experience...

I LOVE NAT

ok...enough about that...

I have to work today...damn vaca was pretty sweet...now it's back to the hospital where there are a whole lot of chiefs and not enough little indians....it's not what it used to be.   It's changed and everyone in the dept has changed.  I constantly have to watch what I say because god knows if I say the wrong thing I'd be called into the big bosses' office...I fucking hate that office.  Petty shit too...like not making a coupla check marks on a piece of paper so I get a fucking E-mail about it and it's cc'd to my sup.  while i'm on vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!  PEOPLE...THERE IS SUCH THING AS COMMON COURTESY...AND THIS DEPT DOESN'T HAVE THAT OR CAMERADRIE.  fucking sweet!

It's time to post this thing cause I started it around 7 a...and it's now 7:40!!

What's new with me???

I've been with Nat for 2 years as of 01/01/07!!!!! At 12 noon (yes that is when our 1st date was)

This girl is special to me and I told her that this was it. After our 2 year anniversary she has to live with me for the rest of her life. No excuses! No turning back! I know that I can b a pain in the ass to live with sometimes but who can't! I've made it very clear to myself that she has been by my side (and at times almost stuck to me) all this time and for something to go wrong at this point would be just silly! She will follow me anywhere I go and that means inside my house too. The next step from here is getting "married" which happens on June 2nd. All that want invited that read this you need to send me your addy so I can get the invite out to you. I'm the type of person that can live on my own but i've realized that I don't and can't live without Nat. She makes my day everytime I wake up to her saying baby...will you make us some breakfast...or because I work 3rds, Dinner. She has turned my life around 150% and I owe her a lot.

Anywho...time to get outta here!

Man...I hate Bush!!! [Jun. 8th, 2006|10:41 pm]
Once Again, Bush and Republicans Deploy Gay Marriage as November Wedge Issue

Federal Government Has No Place Legislating Marriage of Anyone

(Washington, D.C.) The U.S. Senate began debate this week on a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. The legislative body is scheduling a vote on the matter despite its slim chance of passing.

The proposed amendment is clearly a case of election-year politics. Republican leaders are hoping the same-sex marriage ban, which has great appeal with the far right, will translate into success in November.

President Bush publicly supports the same-sex marriage ban. He stated during his weekly radio address that, "Government, by recognizing and protecting marriage, serves the interests of all."

This proposed constitutional amendment only serves the narrow interests of social conservatives and the extreme religious right.

Republicans are playing election year politics with an issue that deeply affects the private lives of ordinary Americans. They are attempting to discriminate against an entire segment of the U.S. population in order to gain a few percentage points at the polls.

"This is another move by Bush and Republicans to placate their far-right base. Sadly, it is law-abiding, tax-paying citizens who are being targeted by this move because of their minority status," stated Shane Cory, executive director of the Libertarian Party. "The federal government has no business legislating the bonds of two consenting adults. This proposed amendment and the push for its support by the Bush administration goes beyond political absurdity and enters into the realm of would-be Orwellian fiction."

Additionally, a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage violates the principle of federalism. Historically, it has been the provision of state and local governments to regulate marriage.

Libertarian activist and chair of Outright Libertarians, Rob Power, commented, "It's clear that the concept of federalism is so foreign to politicians in Washington that it's now only a buzzword used by the party not in the White House, and even they don't really believe in it."

Republicans Turn Anew to Gay Marriage Ban
Proposed Constitutional Amendment Short of Votes in Senate
By LAURIE KELLMAN, AP

WASHINGTON (June 5) - President Bush and congressional Republicans are aiming the political spotlight this week on efforts to ban gay marriage, with events at both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue -- all for a constitutional amendment with scant chance of passage but wide appeal among social conservatives.

Bush said Monday he is "proud to stand with" those who support a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage. The president's remarks Monday were timed to coincide with the Senate opening three days of debate on the issue. Neither chamber, though, is likely to pass the amendment by the two-thirds majority required to send it to the states -- three quarters of which would then have to approve it.

Many Republicans support the measure because they say traditional marriage strengthens society; others don't but concede the reality of election-year politics.

"Marriage between one man and one woman does a better job protecting children better than any other institution humankind has devised," said Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn. "As such, marriage as an institution should be protected, not redefined."

But Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter, R-Pa., said he will vote against it on the floor but allowed it to survive his panel in part to give the Republicans the debate party leaders believe will pay off on Election Day. Specter has chosen a different battle with the Bush administration this week -- a hearing Tuesday on the ways the FBI spies on journalists who publish classified information.

As that hearing gets under way, debate on the marriage amendment will enter its second day on the Senate floor. All but one of the Senate Democrats -- the exception is Ben Nelson of Nebraska -- oppose the measure and, with moderate Republicans, are expected to block an up-or-down vote, killing the measure for the year.

Democrats say the amendment is a divisive bow to religious conservatives, and point out that it conflicts with the GOP's opposition to big government interference.

"A vote for this amendment is a vote for bigotry pure and simple," said Democratic Sen. Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts, where the state Supreme Court legalized gay marriages in 2003.

Mayor Gavin Newsom of San Francisco, which in 2004 began issuing marriage licenses to gay couples, on Monday denounced Bush's move as predictable and "stale rhetoric" aimed at rallying conservatives for this year's midterm elections.

"It's politics. It's pandering and it's placating a core constituency, the evangelicals," Newsom said on ABC's "Good Morning America."

Fueled by election-year politics, the gay marriage issue is the most volatile Congress will consider as it returns from a weeklong Memorial Day recess.

Other legislation has better chances for success, particularly a record-size emergency spending bill to continue U.S. military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan and provide hurricane relief along the Gulf Coast.

The Pentagon says it needs its money -- about $66 billion -- right away or delays could begin to affect the conduct of the war in Iraq. The Senate added new relief for farmers and other aid to the package, swelling its cost to more than $100 billion. Bush is demanding that the price tag stick within his $92.2 billion request, plus $2.3 billion to combat avian flu.

The House is expected to consider a $32 billion spending bill that would give the Homeland Security Department $1.8 billion more in 2007 than this year. It also is likely to send Bush a Senate-approved bill to raise indecency fines tenfold, to $325,000 per violation, for television and radio broadcasters.

An election-year debate on the constitutional amendment to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman was never in doubt, however doomed the legislation. As Republicans geared up to defend their majorities in the House and Senate, conservative groups earlier this year let them know that they were dissatisfied with the GOP's efforts on several social issues, including gay marriage.

Parliamentary maneuvers were likely to sink the amendment for the year. Senate procedure requires two days of debate before the 100-member Senate decides -- 60 votes are required -- whether to consider the amendment on an up-or-down vote.

WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?

My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of the Iraq regime has been completed.

Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hellholes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.

Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe China.

I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York.

A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change.

Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put em? Yep, border security.

Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty - starting now.

We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there. They care.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, "darn tootin."

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thank you guys. We owe you and we won't forget.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic.

God bless America. Thank you and good night.

If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.

Conservatives aim at gay adoption

Published: Tuesday, February 21, 2006
By Andrea Stone
Gannett News Service

Efforts to ban gays and lesbians from adopting children are emerging across the country in a second front in the culture wars over same-sex marriage that began during the 2004 elections.

Moves to pass laws or secure November ballot initiatives are under way in at least 15 states, say adoption, gay rights and conservative groups. Some, such as Ohio, Georgia and Kentucky, approved constitutional amendments in 2004 banning gay marriage.

"Now that we've defined what marriage is, we need to take that further and say children deserve to be in that relationship," says Greg Quinlan of Ohio's Pro-Family Network, a conservative Christian group.

Florida has banned all gays and lesbians from adopting since 1977, although they can be foster parents.Court challenges and a campaign by entertainer Rosie O'Donnell to overturn the law have failed. A pending bill would allow state judges to grant exceptions.

Mississippi bans adoption by gay couples, but gay singles can adopt. Utah bans all unmarried couples, regardless of sexual orientation, from adoption.

Bills to restrict gay adoption are in the works in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Indiana, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah and West Virginia. Five of those states also are discussing ballot initiatives.

States have had "little fiddlings here and there," says Kent Markus of the National Center for Adoption Law and Policy in Ohio but "there is more activity" than he's seen in 15 years.

Religious groups and courts also are grappling with the issue. Roman Catholic bishops in Massachusetts are seeking an exemption from state anti-discrimination laws to allow the church to bar gays from adopting through its social service agencies. Meanwhile, a judge in Missouri last week ruled that the state could not deny a foster care license to a lesbian.

Fueling the activity among lawmakers:

Ballot victories. Social conservatives view family makeup as the next battleground after passing marriage amendments in 11 states in 2004. They welcomed a bill introduced this month in Ohio that would ban gays and lesbians from adopting or raising foster children. They vow to put it on the ballot if the bill fails.

Patrick Guerriero, president of Log Cabin Republicans, a gay political group that opposes limiting marriage and adoption to heterosexuals, calls the strategy the next step by conservatives. "The game plan was first to go to states where it was easy to pass anti-marriage amendments and then launch a second round of attacks" on gay adoption, he says.

Election-year politics. Republicans battered by questions over ethics and Iraq might well use the adoption issue to deflect attention and draw out conservatives in close Senate and governor races in states such as Missouri and Ohio, experts say.
says University of Southern California political scientist Sherry Bebitch Jeffe.

The aim is to replicate 2004, says Julie Brueggemann of the gay rights group PROMO: Personal Rights of Missourians. She says marriage initiatives mobilized conservative voters in 2004 and helped President Bush win in closely contested states such as Ohio.

"There's a push within the right wing of the Republican Party to make this an issue," she says. "They see this as a get-out-the-vote tactic."

GOP pollster Whit Ayres, who works closely with conservative religious groups, is skeptical. Adoption, he says, "doesn't have the emotional power of the gay marriage issue because there is no such thing as the phrase 'the sanctity of adoption.' "

The accountant says: "Before we begin, I'll need to ask you a few questions." He gets her name, address, social security number, etc, and then asks, "what is your occupation?"
"I'm a whore," she says.
The accountant balks and says, "No, No, No, that won't work. That is too gross. Let's try to rephrase that."
The woman says, "OK., I'm a high-end call girl."
"No, that is still too crude. Try again."
They both think for a minute, then the woman says, "I'm an elite chicken farmer."
The accountant asks, "What does chicken farming have to do with being a whore & call girl?
"Well, I raised over a thousand little peckers last year."
He replies: "Good enough."

Gotta Love Andy Rooney!!!!

Message

I'm surprised CBS let him get away with this even though I think he is right.

AMEN ANDY ROONEY !

Right on, Andy Rooney!

Andy Rooney said on "60 Minutes" a few weeks back:

I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, that is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE?

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion. I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off.

When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling, it is the Law of Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English!

My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry ass if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or "stop" in English, see the above lines.

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.

I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor.

I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.

It doesn't take a whole! village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say "NO!"

I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!

I am sick of "Political Correctness." I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa; so how can they be "African-Americans"? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe. I am proud to be from America and nowhere else

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG, OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND TO THE REPUBLIC, FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

I was asked to send this on if I agree or delete if I don't. It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore, I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a problem in having "In God We Trust" on our money and having "God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the 14% to Shut Up and BE QUIET!!!

If you agree, pass this on, if not delete. .
